Okay example of a plate 101, position JK, Penny Red with pale colour. Print highly offset leaving a large margin to the top at the detriment of the others. The perforations are generally good with a few faults, and the face detail shows a slight lack of detail. The gum is aged, with the watermark clearly visible and fairly central. The plate number is written on the lower edge. The postmark is only partial but appears to be a barred cancel of the two-part variety - placing it’s use in the London Districts. however multiple characters, besides a final “4” are missing, making it impossible to pinpoint its use.
Two Part Oval Barred Numeral Cancel: ? / 4
Large Crown (Standard)
