Description:

Great example of a Penny Red Star, plate position EF, with a partial and level oval numeral cancel. The shape indicates that it is an England and Wales postmark. The number, 134, diretcs us toward the Bristol office as per the notes by G. Brumell. Another example can be found over at the Stamps of the World Wiki here.

Beyond the postmark the stamp itself is well centered with at least two margins (top and bottom). The left and right margins are smaller, and almost invisible, but the perforations don't excessively encroach upon the printing. There are some short perforation and the upper right corner is slightly trimmed. The gum is clean and unblemished, and the Imperial Crown watermark is both nakedly visible and well positioned.
